Moderation & Appeals Process

We use a combination of:

• Automated Systems: Advanced algorithmic tools (including The Brain engine) to programmatically analyze text patterns, detect clear violations, and filter out spam, hate speech, threats, or explicit personal identifiers before they harm the community.
• Human Moderators: Dedicated experts to review user-reported flags and make careful, case-by-case decisions.
• Community Reporting: Users can quickly flag inappropriate content or toxic behavior directly within the application.

All moderation decisions aim to protect users while respecting genuine freedom of speech within the boundaries of our Community Guidelines.

Moderators may review and take action against:

• Posts or chats containing hate speech, threats, harassment
• Content promoting self-harm, cyberbullying, or real-world violence.
• Doxxing or the unauthorized submission of third-party personal identifiers (names, addresses, or workplace info).
• Impersonation, financial scams, or automated spam.

Enforcement actions can include:

• Immediate content removal.
• Mandatory in-app warning notices.
• Temporary account suspensions.
• Permanent account bans (applied swiftly for severe, structural, or repeated violations).

If you believe a moderation action was taken against your account or content by mistake, you have the right to request a review.

1. How to Submit an Appeal:
   Email our dedicated team at 📧 appeals@yoursecret.org with the following information:

   • Your unique anonymous nickname or account identifier used in the app.
   • A brief description of what happened (including approximate date/time).
   • A clear explanation of why you believe the original moderation decision should be reviewed.

2. Review & Timeline:

   • Senior Review: Appeals are evaluated neutrals by a separate tier of trust and safety managers with fresh eyes.
   • Response Time: We aim to process and respond to all valid appeal requests within 5–7 business days.
   • Finality: Once reviewed by senior safety supervisors, the decision will be final, and you will be notified via email.

• Transparency: You deserve a clear boundary and understanding of why platform safety actions were taken.
• Fairness: Appeals are handled neutrally, ensuring objective enforcement of our rules.
• Safety First: Protecting the YourSecret perimeter and maintaining user mental balance remains our top priority.
